Lauren Fedewa is a doctoral candidate in History and Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto. She specializes in Holocaust and genocide studies, modern Jewish history, and 20th-century European history. Ms. Fedewa earned her BA in History and Germanic Studies from the University of Maryland and her MA in History from the University of Vermont. She is a Sosland Foundation Fellow at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, focusing on her dissertation on Jewish women and girls ‘passing’ as Polish-Christian forced laborers in Germany during the Holocaust. Her research has also been supported by the Sharon Abramson Research Grant from the Holocaust Educational Foundation of Northwestern University.
