Alicja Bartnicka is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of History, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland). Her book, Światopogląd w działaniu. Heinrich Himmler i jego wizja rasowego imperium Trzeciej Rzeszy (Worldview in Action. Heinrich Himmler and His Vision of the Racial Empire of the Third Reich), won the Main Prize of the Gdańsk Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences for young scientists for the best creative work published in 2023. Her second book, Fabryka Zła. Historia obozu pracy przymusowej dla Żydów w Skarżysku-Kamiennej podczas II wojny światowej (The Factory of Evil. The History of the Forced Labor Camp for Jews in Skarżysko-Kamienna during World War II) is forthcoming.
Alicja received grants and scholarships from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Brzezie Lanckoroński Foundation, the Marion Dönhoff Stiftung, the National Science Centre in Poland, and the Polish Ministry of Education. Between 2022 and 2026, she served as the Claims Conference University Partnership in Holocaust Studies Lecturer at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
