Olga Kartashova is a PhD candidate in Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University, where she is completing her dissertation, “International Networks and Jewish Efforts to Prosecute Nazi Criminals for Crimes in Poland (1943-1948).” She specializes in the Holocaust in Eastern Europe, focusing on its aftermath, memory, historiography, and trials. Ms. Kartashova has worked as a researcher at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM). She was a visiting fellow at the Minerva Center for Human Rights at Tel Aviv University, where she co-led a monthly research seminar on the East European and Jewish roots of international law. She has also held visiting fellowships at the Center for Holocaust Studies at the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History in Munich, the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI) at the Wiener Holocaust Library, the Leibniz Simon Dubnow Institute for Jewish History and Culture, the USHMM, and at the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies.
