Dr. Paula Chan is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at All Souls’ College, University of Oxford. She received her PhD in Russian and Eastern European History at Georgetown University in 2023. Her dissertation received the Robert C. Tucker/Stephen F. Cohen Prize from the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies. Dr. Chan’s articles have appeared in the Journal of Contemporary History, the Journal of Illiberalism Studies, and Holocaust and Genocide Studies. Additional pieces are forthcoming in Slavic Review as well as the Journal of Slavic Military Studies. She is preparing her first book manuscript, Eyes on the Ground: Soviet Investigations of the Nazi Occupation, and is in the early research stages of a second book project tentatively titled Jewish Choices in Soviet Riga.
