AREAS OF STUDY DURING FELLOWSHIP:

Dr. Mike Phoenix is a Clark University alumnus (’18) with a PhD degree in History. Dr. Phoenix’s book (published under his pre-naturalization name), The Holocaust in the Romanian Borderlands (Routledge, 2019), is based on extensive archival research conducted at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Dr. Phoenix is currently working as an SNA International Civilian Contractor supporting the mission of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) in Honolulu, Hawai’i. He writes research products for internal agency use and co-produces multidisciplinary research products that tie directly to fieldwork. Dr. Phoenix’s work is in support of the DPAA’s investigative efforts geared towards casualty resolution during the Vietnam War.
